but not from the same mold.

Music, art, literature – besides the wind in her hair and the waves at her feet, these were her anchor points for the duration of Ingeborg Suhr’s life. On Nov. 05, 2023 the benefactor passed away peacefully.

Ingeborg Suhr was a down-to-earth, gracious, and caring person. She was influential without ever being loud. An extensive traveller, she had an open-minded and tolerant view of life and people. At the same time, she was an artist to the core and defining herself as such.

Raised in Braunschweig, the trained chemical technician worked in Hamburg and Paris before she began working with clay in England. Freely designed wall objects and functional ceramics defined her work. Her knowledge of chemistry inspired her colour and glaze experiments. For many years, Ingeborg Suhr worked in her own ceramics studio in Hamburg as well as working sculpturally as a freelance artist. Her large-scale wall reliefs still adorn numerous entrance halls of office buildings, including those of EUROPA-CENTER AG.
